Pet health update

We have a wonderful animal, our cat, Squeaky.  He’s approaching 20.  Unfortunately as cats get older they are likely to get bladder or urinary tract problems.  We never used any therapeutic grade essential oils we have in the house on any of our cats.  You do not use these oils on animals as you would on an adult.  You can actually kill an animal with these oils without proper guidance.

I attended a free class in Gloucester with Dr Mary Oney, a naturopath, about the oils and pets.  I got a free booklet about using the oils with animals and a sample of a blend to spray around Squeaky’s eating area. The result of using it for fleas:  dramatic reduction- to almost none!

Now in 2021 the National Resources Defense Council (a non profit environmental group) reports continued suing of our Environmental Protection Agency to protect pets, owners, and small children snuggling up to pets wearing toxic flea collars.  There is neurological damage (according to the EPA’s own assessment) to toddlers brains.  PetSmart and Petco, 2 large retailers, under pressure from the NRDC, are dropping toxic flea collars.  More detailed information is at nrdc.org.
