Renovating here

Old buildings are being renovated all around town, including houses in my neighborhood.  Before 1978 paint had lead, a detail I learned near the cash register at the Tractor Supply.  Mercury was banned from paints in 1989.  It is colorless, odorless, and tasteless and it was or may still be in those old medicine cabinets as thermometers.  If you are renovating, this piece reprinted from a DAMS newsletter may come in handy.  (see description of DAMS group in 1/23/21).

Community gardens

Community gardens near Warhill High School are giving high school students credit for working

there this summer.  There is college credit for some working at Navdanya farm owned by Dr Shiva in the state of Uttarakhand, India of the previous blog entry.  Uttarakhand is a state where it isn’t allowed.

I chose Vandana Shiva PhD (of India) who was a guest speaker at William and Mary Earth Day  2018 for another repeat. She continues to be outspoken about who and what is destroying our food supply – worldwide.  She has gotten “death threats” for exposing the large “M” corp bought by the German “B” corp.
