Celebrate

Earth Day, officially April 22, began in 1970.  I have participated in many of these events across Virginia, and 8 here at William & Mary.  My topic has been MERCURY, a potent persistent neurotoxin.  I focused mostly on dental exposure from “silver”amalgam fillings.  But other exposures were included – broken mercury thermometers, coal power plants, etc.

Since the lockdown you can attend such events virtually.  I see a link now to the Sierra Club’s planned event for April 22.  Someone who formed a group named the Third Act (specifically for seniors) will speak.  I’m looking forward to that.  But seniors have spoken at Sunrise group events, Earth Days, conservation events, and other places in this town focusing on preserving the natural world.

My snail mail says speakers from various Virginia colleges will join in.
